The Tirrenic Pearl
Deployed between two gulfs: that of Milazzo in the East and Patti in the West, and known as "The Tirrenic Pearl", Milazzo has got a panorama which makes envy. In front of Milazzo you can find the archipelago of the beautiful Eolian Island, that in 2000 had been recognized as Word Heritage Site by the UNESCO, because it is a biosphere reserve and a cultural heritage. And if the weather permits it, it is even possible to see the Etna.
The city is full of monuments like the amazing Castle, the biggest of Sicily. Proud and imposing, it stands to protect the town and became the most immediate symbol in the popular imagination. Inside, you can visit the old Cathedral, the Cyclopean Walls with the bastion of Santa Maria, the town and port, the Court, the Norman Tower and the fireplace room.
The view over Milazzo, which stretches between the two bays (Ponente and Levante) is like no other and the visit to the Castle is unmissable.
From here you can head up to the cliffs of Capo Milazzo which culminates in a charming paradise, the &qupt;Pool of Venus".
The beautiful Milazzo is an appreciated tourist destination of Sicily from which you can reach other places such as the already mentioned Eolian Islands, Tindari and Taormina, the Alcantara Gorges and the charming Parco dei Nebrodi.
